Character Favorites

Below is a list of characters from To Kill A Mockingbird.  Appraise each character.  On a separate sheet of paper, create two lists, one list for characters liked and one list for characters disliked.  Then, arrange the characters in order.  #1 on each list will be the most liked or most disliked.  The total number on each list does not have to be even, but each character appears on one list only.  Defend your choices by citing a specific example from the text.  Use a quotation from the novel to support your claims about each character.  [This is what is most important in this assignment: how you use quotations to support your opinions.  For example: Atticus is my favorite because he is honest.  Miss Maudie comments, "Atticus Finch is the same in his house as he is on the public streets" (46).]
